The Mechanical Department proudly inaugurated GEAR UP ‘25 with Mechanica on 23 July 2025, featuring an inspiring talk by Dr. Giribaskar Sivaswamy, Ph.D. (IIT Kanpur) — Knowledge Exchange Fellow & Technical Specialist in Nonferrous Alloy Processing, Advanced Forming Research Center (AFRC), University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK — on Manufacturing Processes for Aerospace Applications.
3-days Faculty Development Program
The Departments of Mechanical & Automobile Engineering at Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) successfully conducted a 3-days Faculty Development Program from 2nd to 4th July 2025, in collaboration with Adroitec Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The FDP, held at the CAD Lab (C-216), focused on enhancing faculty expertise in Creo software for sheet metal and plastic component modeling, with Mr. Vignesh M, Senior Application Executive at Adroitec Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd,Banglore serving as the resource person.
Hands-on Training in PLC
Faculty members from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering successfully completed a Hands-on Training in PLC conducted by Janatics India Pvt Ltd., Coimbatore from 21.05.2025 to 23.05.2025.
5-Day Faculty Development Program
The Department of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with Capgemini, successfully conducted a 5-Day Faculty Development Program on "New Product Development and its Applications” on May 12 to 17, 2025.
TIFAN 2025
Team Horizon, led by Mr. M. Harshith Vignesh (III Year, Mechanical, 2022–2026 Batch), successfully participated in SAE India TIFAN 2025 with their project on Automated Vegetable Transplanter.The event was held from 25th to 27th April 2025 at Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Pune, under the mentorship of Mr. K. Vijayakkannan (Assistant Professor (SS)/Mech) and Ms. V. Karpagam (Assistant Professor (SS)/EEE).
ATAL IDEA Lab - Basic Faculty Development Program
Dr. M. Jayaraj, Assistant Professor (SG), Department of Mechanical Engineering, successfully completed a Five-Day Basic Faculty Development Program for IDEA Lab Co-Coordinators organized by AICTE, ATAL IDEA Lab and Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, held from April 21 to April 25, 2025.

Industry Conclave-2025 was successfully conducted by the Department of Mechanical & Automobile Engineering , MCET on April 26, 2025, with the esteemed resource persons from Autoliv, Hexagon and TAFE Industries.
AICTE MODEL IDEA LAB
Dr.Rama Thirumurugan, Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Coordinator for AICTE IDEA LAB participated in Basic Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AICTE MODEL IDEA LAB” held from 15th- 19th April 2025 at the Centre for Postgraduate Studies, VTU, Bangalore .
