ABOUT NIA-CLP

NIA-CLP is a division of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, established in 2019 in partnership with Cambridge Assessment English, a department of the University of Cambridge. The centre traces its roots back to 2004, when MCET operated as a Business English Certificate (BEC) preparatory centre under the British Council — successfully training and certifying over 1,500 students through BEC Preliminary, Vantage, and Higher exams until 2019.

Building on that foundation, NIA-CLP transitioned to become an authorised Cambridge Assessment English centre and now offers Linguaskill Business — the modular, computer-adaptive test that succeeded BULATS in 2019 — to measure a candidate's real-world business English proficiency. With this shift, NIA-CLP continues its mission of equipping rural youth with globally recognised English qualifications that stand as a passport to higher studies and international careers.
