Parents-Teachers Meeting

The AI & ML Department conducted a Parents-Teachers Meeting on 13th April 2026 at the Makkinampatti campus. Faculty members discussed students' academic progress, attendance, and overall performance with parents. The meeting facilitated effective interaction and feedback, strengthening the collaboration between parents and teachers for student development. Individual discussions were held to review students’ academic progress, behavior, and overall development. Teachers shared constructive feedback, while parents actively engaged by asking questions and providing insights. The meeting helped strengthen collaboration between the institution and families, ensuring a supportive environment for students’ growth and success.

Organizes a Training Program on “Implementing ML and DL Projects”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi, organized a three-day training program titled “Implementing Machine Learning and Deep Learning Projects” for faculties and students from 19th to 21st February 2026 at Venue C302. The program was conducted by Mr. Manu Thambi, Senior Technology Specialist from Quantumnique Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. The training focused on practical aspects of implementing ML and DL projects, providing participants with hands-on exposure, industry-oriented insights, and real-time application knowledge, thereby enhancing their technical competence and readiness for research and industry practices.

Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Basics

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Hindusthan Institute of Technology, in collaboration with IEI Coimbatore Local Centre, organized a two-day All India Workshop on “Advanced Wireless Sensor Network-Based Transforming Smart Agricultural Systems: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Applications” from 26th to 27th November 2025.As part of the event, Dr. P. Vivekanandhan, Professor & Head, Department of CSE (AIML), Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi, delivered a session on “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Basics” on 26 November 2025 from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm.The workshop provided valuable insights into the integration of wireless sensor technologies with AI/ML for enhancing modern agricultural practices. The session received an excellent response from participants and contributed significantly to the overall success of the event.

29.12.2025 - Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting

A meeting of the Board of Studies (BoS) was successfully conducted at Dr.MCET, Tamil Nadu, on Monday, 29 December 2025 at 3:30 PM. The meeting was held in the institutional conference hall with active participation from internal and external members. The session was chaired by the BoS Chairperson, and attended by faculty members, subject experts, and academic representatives. The primary objective of the meeting was to review and finalize the academic curriculum in line with current industry requirements, outcome-based education (OBE), and national educational frameworks. Members actively shared their suggestions and recommendations to enhance academic quality and relevance. The discussions were interactive, and valuable inputs from external experts were incorporated to strengthen curriculum design. The meeting concluded with formal approval of the revised curriculum and a vote of thanks to all members for their constructive contributions. The approved recommendations will be implemented from the forthcoming academic year.

INNOVIA’25 is a department-level technical symposium that aims to bring together young innovators, coders, and thinkers in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The event focuses on fostering creativity, problem-solving, and innovation through a series of engaging technical competitions and activities.

18.09.2025 - Spearheading AI Trends with Hands-on Workshop on Gen AI and AI Agents

The Department of CSE (AIML), Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, organized a One-Day Workshop on “Spearheading AI Trends with Hands-on Workshop on Gen AI and AI Agents” on September 18, 2025. The session featured Mrs. Karthika Tamileselvan (Co-Founder & Head of Operations, Zequin) as the Guest of Honour, along with experts Mr. Rajasekar (AI Engineer) and Ms. Shesha Vardhini (Cloud Engineer) from Zequin, who shared valuable insights and hands-on training. Guided by the department faculty, the workshop equipped students with practical knowledge of Generative AI and AI Agents , making it an enriching and impactful experience.

16th to 18th July 2025 - 3 days workshop for IT stream students

The 3-day workshop on “AI PC Revolution: Building Next-Gen Healthcare Workstations”, held from 16th to 18th July 2025, was a great success. IT stream students learned how AI-powered PCs are transforming the healthcare industry. The sessions included hands-on activities, expert talks, and group projects focused on using AI for medical tasks like diagnostics and data analysis. Students also explored the latest tools and technologies used in smart healthcare systems. The workshop ended with students feeling motivated and better prepared to work on future healthcare tech solutions.

Program Assessment Committee (PAC) Meeting on 11.04.2025

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) conducted the Second Program Assessment Committee (PAC) Meeting on 11.04.2025 at the MCA Seminar Hall, MCET. The meeting was chaired by Dr. P. Vivekanandan, Professor and Head, and coordinated by Ms. S. Yamunadevi, PAC Coordinator. Dr. J. Uma, Assistant Professor (SS), Amrita School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, served as the Academic Expert. Faculty members Mr. T. Selvakumar, Mr. T. Vijayakumar, Ms. P. Jessie, and Ms. R. Mithuna actively participated. Selected students also attended the meeting, providing valuable feedback and suggestions towards curriculum development and program improvement.
