Gender Champion club has been established in the year 2015 as per the guidelines provided by UGC in line with the directive of Ministry of Women and Child Development’s Guidelines for engagement of Gender Champions by schools and colleges across the country.

Friendship Beyond Gender – Reel It Competition
The Gender Champion Club of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology organized “Friendship Beyond Gender: Reel It Competition” on 1 October 2026 at 9.00 a.m., with the participation of 28 students. The competition aimed to promote gender equality, mutual respect, inclusivity, and meaningful friendships beyond gender-based stereotypes. Students were encouraged to express their creativity and perspectives through short reels highlighting the importance of friendship, understanding, and equal relationships. The activity provided a platform for students to showcase their talents while spreading awareness about gender sensitivity and respect for all. The event encouraged a positive, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.
Poster Presentation
The Gender Champion Club successfully conducted a Poster Presentation on November 25, 2025, at Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology.
The event was designed to promote gender awareness, equality, and inclusivity among students. It aimed to provide an engaging platform for participants to express their ideas creatively, highlight key issues related to gender sensitivity, and showcase innovative approaches toward building a more equitable society. The activity encouraged critical thinking, empathy, and responsible behaviour among the participants.
