Alumni Interaction Programme on Current Industry Trends

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), organized an Alumni Interaction Programme on Current Industry Trends on 13.02.2026 at 11.00 AM in C Block Labs C332 & C331 for second and third year Cyber Security students. The programme aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing insights into real-world cybersecurity practices. The session was handled by distinguished alumni Mr. Mukesh and Ms. Sowbarnika from CISAI, Kollam, Kerala, along with Mr. Sarathi from Pitowings, Coimbatore, and Mr. Muralitharan and Mr. Raghul from CYTRUST, Bangalore. The alumni shared their professional experiences and discussed current industry trends, emerging cyber threats, and practical approaches to cybersecurity.

Alumni Interaction Programme

The Department of CSE (Cyber Security) organized an Alumni Interaction Programme on 13.02.2026 at 11.00 AM in C Block Lab No: C332, focusing on Cyber Attacks and current industry practices. The session was led by alumni Mr. Mukesh and Ms. Sowbarnika from CISAI, Kollam, Kerala, who shared their valuable industry knowledge with the students. They discussed various types of cyber-attacks such as phishing, malware, ransomware, social engineering, and network-based threats, explaining real-time attack scenarios and to create awareness among the students about current cybersecurity challenges and protection strategies.

Sixth Board of Studies Meeting:

The Department of CSE (Cyber Security) successfully conducted its Sixth Board of Studies Meeting on 29th December 2025 from 03.00 pm to 04.00 pm. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department, Expert members, and Cyber Security faculty members. Detailed discussions were held on the 2026 Regulation curriculum structure and framework, focusing on academic relevance, course outcomes, and alignment with industry requirements.

Idea Pitching

Cyborg '25 ENCRYPTIX, a technical event, was successfully conducted by the Department of CSE (Cyber Security) on 23rd October 2025. The event featured two competitions, "Idea Pitching" and "Mind vs Machine," designed to challenge students' innovative thinking and technical skills. The event was coordinated by Mr. Nadeesh M, AP(SS)/CSE(CYS), along with the faculty organizing committee. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the various competition.

Practical Cyber Awareness Program for school students

A Practical Cyber Awareness Program for school students was successfully conducted on 9th August 2025. The session demonstrated real-life hacking scenarios and educated students on how to protect themselves from online fraud and other cyber threats. The program was handled by Dr. P. Vivekanandhan, HOD/CSE(CYS), and Dr. M. Sakthi Vadivel, AP(SS)/CSE(CYS).

Cyber Security Pathways: Career Guidance and Opportunities

A one-day workshop on "Cyber Security Pathways: Career Guidance and Opportunities" was successfully conducted on 3rd September 2025. The workshop was attended by second and third-year students from the Department of CSE (Cyber Security). The session was led by Mr. Balaji Shivnesan, a Senior Network and Security Engineer from SecureTech LLC, Abu Dhabi.

 

 

Technical Quiz

A Technical Quiz on Cybersecurity was successfully conducted on 11th August 2025. The event aimed to create cybersecurity awareness among students. The session was handled by Mr. M. Nadeesh, AP(SS)/CSE(CYS), and Mrs. E. Gayathiri. Prizes were awarded to the winning students.

Encryptix Association Inauguration and Guest Lecture

An Association Inauguration and Guest Lecture, 'Encryptix', was successfully conducted on 11th August 2025. The event was organized by the Department of CSE (Cyber Security). The session featured a guest lecture by Mr. Ramakrishnan Nataraj, the Founder & CEO of KlyONIX Tech.

 

 

Two-day workshop on Essentials of Burp Suite

A two-day workshop on "Essentials of Burp Suite" was successfully conducted on 31st July 2025 and 1st August 2025. The workshop was attended by 64 students from the Department of Cybersecurity. The session was led by Mr. M.P. Bharath Kannan, an experienced Application Security Analyst from SISA Infosec, Bangalore.

Program Assessment Committee (PAC) Meeting on 11.04.2025

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) conducted the Second Program Assessment Committee (PAC) Meeting on 11.04.2025 at the OBE Seminar Hall, MCET. The meeting was chaired by Dr. P. Vivekanandan, Professor and Head, and coordinated by Ms. V. Shanmugaveni, Programme Coordinator and Ms.M. Jotheeswari, PAC Coordinator. Dr. J. Uma, Assistant Professor (SS), Amrita School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, served as the Academic Expert.

3 days FDP on Cybersecurity Essentials:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET), successfully conducted a Three-Day Faculty Development Program on “Cybersecurity Essentials: A Hands-on Introduction to Ethical Hacking and Cyber Defense” from 2nd to 4th April 2025. The program featured expert sessions by professionals from HebeSec Technologies, Bangalore, offering in-depth insights into malware analysis, Linux fundamentals, reconnaissance techniques, and advanced cybersecurity tools. With active participation from faculty, students, and industry professionals, the event provided a rich learning platform for cybersecurity enthusiasts.
