The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science conducted a Hackathon Orientation on August 19, 2025, at the Electrical Seminar Hall, with 127 students participating. The session introduced students to hackathon basics, team building, and project planning, helping them prepare for events like the Smart India Hackathon.

A One-Credit Course on “Mobile App Development using Flutter” was conducted over two Saturdays, combining hands-on training with industry insights. Experts from Apexisys Technologies, Coimbatore, inspired students on the theme “Evolution of Youth to Entrepreneurs.”

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science conducted a One Credit Course on “Mobile App Development using Flutter” for II B.Tech AI & DS students on 26.07.2025, featuring hands-on training that covered Flutter installation, creating applications in Android Studio, working with UI components and navigation, form handling, and basic Firebase integration, enabling students to gain practical experience in building cross-platform mobile applications and enhancing their skills in modern mobile app development frameworks.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Foundations of AI & Deep Learning” from 30th June to 4th July 2025. The program provided intensive hands-on training in Machine Learning and Deep Learning using Python and PyTorch, with a special focus on the NVIDIA AI ecosystem. Key topics included neural network foundations, CNNs, Transformers, and NVIDIA's academic tools such as DLI and Jetson. Faculty participants also explored certification opportunities and future engagement plans like becoming University Ambassadors and applying for academic grants. The FDP aimed to empower educators to effectively integrate AI into their teaching and research.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science successfully organised the Valedictory Ceremony of INVICTUS, the department's vibrant student forum. The event will take place on Monday, 28th April 2025 at 2:00 PM, and will be graced by the presence of Mr. K. Boopathi Kumar, CEO and Founder of Training Train's, as the Chief Guest. This special occasion marks the culmination of a year of achievements, innovation, and student-led initiatives, celebrating the collective spirit and accomplishments of the INVICTUS team.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science proudly organised HackVenture’25, a two-day hackathon held on 22nd and 23rd April 2025 at the Mechanical Seminar Hall. With the theme #Think Local, Hack Global, the event challenged participants to “hack the quad, crack the code, and level up” by diving into real-world problems with innovative tech solutions. The hackathon saw enthusiastic participation, fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving among budding technologists. Guided by faculty coordinators Mr. M. Vijayakumar and Ms. M. Rajalakshmi, HackVenture’25 created an engaging platform for future innovators to showcase their talents and embrace the chaos of creation.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science organised Farewell ’25, a warm send-off for the 2021–2025 batch, hosted by INVICTUS. The event will take place on Thursday, 17th April at 2:00 PM in the Mech Seminar Hall, celebrating the achievements and memories of the outgoing seniors with gratitude and best wishes for their future.

The Department of AI & DS organized a Professor of Practice (PoP) Session on the Foundation of Data Science by Mr. K. Prakash, Senior Technology Services Engineer at Walmart Global Tech India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. The session will take place on 22nd March 2025 (Saturday) from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at C Block 318 Lab for II Year AI&DS (A Section) students. This session aims to provide hands-on experience and industry insights into Data Science.

Department of AI & DS organized a One-Day Hands-on Training on Deep Learning Techniques on March 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at NPT Seminar Hall - 01. The session will be led by Dr. V. Mahendran, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, IIT Tirupati. This workshop aims to provide practical exposure to deep learning methodologies and their applications.
